Yes, totally appropriate and very sweet. Also, the fact that you are even concerned about boundaries means that they are in place :)

Yes, it is very appropriate and a kind thought. Sounds like she has gone above and beyond for you and I'm sure she would welcome the gesture. Many doctors recieve flowers or other gifts as thank you's. So I believe given your long standing relationship of more than a year. How she has gone above and beyond with her care allowing you to call her at home, I am sure your gift will be welcomed.
Off topic..
I also have a son named Gavin :)

I don't see why not--sounds like a really sweet idea to me. Personally, I would appreciate flowers and a kind thought after a surgery from just about anyone!

I don't see anything wrong with it, I work in an office and i have people that bring in stuff at the holidays. I have patient that has a dog bone business that brings my dong bones when he comes in. One of the DR. sons died and we had everyone in town sending cards and flowers. I think as long as they are sent and you do not bring them yourself that is fine.
You are a very thoughtful person good luck with all you do. Sometimes we all need someone to talk to.

I would think yes, but then it woudl seem too romantic, pick a simple flower, not roses...more like daisies or tulips...but definitely NOT a red flower....or white...

It would be appropriate. I gave both my counsellor and psychologist little Christmas cards.

Of course! Who knows, maybe it'd make her knees heal up faster. If not, it'll make her feel better.
