Almost any ammunition, even pistol and revolver bullets, can shoot through a brick. There is specific ammo called AP, or armor piercing, specially made to shoot through light armor, bricks, blocks, buildings, cars, etc. Most people don't have access to that type. It is NOT cheap and NOT easy to find. "Cop killer bullets" is a catch phrase used by liberals to describe something they don't like and want to make (completely useless) laws against. Criminals don't go looking for cops to shoot (usually). Neither do law-abiding citizens. liberals WANT to panic (the more gullible) citizens into believing outrageous lies about guns. Cops aren't worried by cop killer bullets; it's cop killers they are worried about. You've been listening to too much liberal propaganda., which is meant to confuse and divide the American public.

Almost any modern center-fire rifle with full metal jacket ammo could break through bricks. Several answered concerning the Barrett or other .50 caliber BMG rifles. These are NOT cheap and while there are some less expensive makes than the Barrett I've yet to see a .50 BMG of any type sell for less than $2,500.
Since to date there has never been a law enforcement officer killed by one I doubt that they are really worried about it. Most cops are not worried about the gun, they are worried about the person holding it.

Most bullets would flatten, ricochet, or just make a small hole in the brick but a Full Metal Jacket or Armor Piercing bullet might go through. There are many guns that can shoot them. It would probably take several shots to break into the brick depending on how thick it is.

I think the weapon you are talking about is FN's 57N. It's a handgun that fires a projectile capable of defeating most body armor. But since you're not talking about a handgun, an AP round fired out of a rifle would go through brick. In most cases anyway. Certainly an AP round fired out of .50 cal rifle would do the trick but they aren't easy to hide not to mention expensive.

we have the bullets that DO NOT go thru walls as we really only wish to take out an intruder not 'maybe' our children on the other side of the wall. mind you these bullets also spread the person around an awful lot..................
I so very feel for the police officers in this country...............they do a great job under horrid conditions IMO

I am guessing you mean a potato gun. They are becoming popular because kids are modifying them into guns that shoot actual projectiles instead of potatos. We took one off a kid that was shooting 2x4 planks through 3/4" plywood. He said that was also shooting re-bar through it and penetrating the sides of bridges. Pretty scary stuff.

A .50 caliber rifle would do it, but any long gun isn't much of a concern for most officers, because they are nearly impossible to conceal.

My question to you is why are you asking this question on a police page? No one needs to have a gun like that except police or military.
