a cyclist with hairy legs is worse. when i do my XC races, i used to look rediculous in my lycra shorts. i started shaving (i actually use a hair trimmer, so i dont get razor stub) and in the summer when i sweat, my legs get real shiny and muscular so it looks very pro.
on the other hand, if you do heavy mountain bikeing/FR/DH, a little hair looks good. in the winter i only shave about once every 2 or 3 months (in the summer i do it once a week) and it looks more "manly"
if your only in HS and shave your legs, i suppose thats not too bad, as long as you have fairly toned legs. if they are just flabby tree trunks, then it wouldnt be right.
dont tell your parents, but dont try to hide it either. im 17 and when i started doing it, my mom saw my legs and was like "...... ok, whatever"
in case you didnt know, having less hair on your legs (or arms) reduces risk of infection if you lacerate yourself. hair holds dirt in closer to your skin. no hair - just wipe the dirt off and keep riding. no worries

I'm male and I've been both. The shaved legs come in handy. I won a best legs contest at school. But, given the amount of road rash I had to bandage up, the smooth legs made it much easier to change the dressings. No tape pulling the hair out.
Now I don't shave and don't race and it's been a long time since I've wrecked. I like my hairy legs, though I do stick out like a sore thumb when I happen to be riding with a group of racers.
Just let 'em its for the bike, but you still like babes - if you do that is.

The high school boys are probably the only group that will give you any stick if you shave them. For defence footballers usually shave the areas they tape up.
On the other side of the coin the gains from shaving are just about zero.
If you are a competitive cyclist, go for it, every little bit helps. If it means being beaten by a whisker or being ribbed at school I know which I would chose.
Middle ground would be to run a number one over them.

A cyclist with hairy legs is more accepted now, but in my opinion all TRUE cyclists shave at least once in their lifetime. Why should your parents care one way or the other? If you are that dedicated to a healthy sport instead of being an X-Box pothead or gangster, who are they to complain?
If your parents are upset, they need to get their priorities straight.

in case you shave your legs you've different adult males hitting on you. the purely adult males I really have come throughout the time of which have shaved their legs are gay or are some type of athlete the position that's a call for. females do not recommendations hair on a adult males legs, we desire in case you save it. it is the decrease back hair that maximum human beings freak out about.
