From Wikipedia.
King Vitaman is a brand of pre-sweetened breakfast cereal produced by Quaker Oats and sold in the United States. The cereal entered the marketplace in 1970, and although it has changed mascots over the years, it is still in production.
King Vitaman Cereal was touted as "the 100% vitamin and iron cereal" with "sugary sweet tasty little crowns... kids love'em!" The cereal itself was similar to Cap'n Crunch. The televised commercials for the cereal were animated by Jay Ward Studios, the creators of Rocky and Bullwinkle. The advertising featured King Vitaman and his knights: Sir Laffitup & Sir Cravenleigh and their foes Blue Baron & Not-So-Bright Knight.
Compared to most well known cereal mascots, the cereal box depiction of King Vitaman has taken multiple versions throughout the years. A photographed man once held the role, as have at least two noticably different cartoon illustrations.
So yes it is still around.

You know we are old school! Lol. I was just thinking about it the other day. I saw it maybe five years ago in New York but never saw it again. It used to be so good. Cap'n crunch reminds me of it (minus the sugar). Maybe Cap'n Crunch is the modern day King Vitamin.

I had never heard of it as a kid from PA in the 70's and our local stations were from Buffalo. We only had things like shredded wheat, frosted flakes, or raisin bran. We usually had to use powdered milk back in them poor days, too~ LOL!
Anyway, living in Virginia now with my kids, I found it when I was on WIC (at Food Lion). Like somebody else said, it is usually on the top shelf but my kids LOVE it too! That is sooo funny that so many of us are reporting the same thing.

When I was a kid in the 1970's my mom wouldn't buy me the sugary cereal that every other kid ate. No Frankenberry, no Honeycomb, no Sugar Smacks. BUT- I was allowed the priviledge of eating that one and only regal, nutritious breakfast cereal- KING VITAMIN! So full of vitamins & minerals that even MY mom- Mrs Health & Nutrition encouraged its consumption.
Now I am a mom, I offer to buy sugary cereals (bad mom!) but my kids WANT King Vitamin. Go figure!
And yes, we find it on the top shelf at our local Kroger's grocery store.
