People: stop quoting other states' laws. California and Missouri's and every other states' laws do a person in Florida no good.

DUI is Florida Statute 316.193. Florida Law permits a person to REFUSE to submit to testing one time without any criminal penalty, but there are consequences with regard to your driver’s license. If you refuse to take their tests, the Florida DMV (not the Court) will suspend your license for one year. This suspension is the least of your problems because the suspension can be challenged by formal review within ten calendar (not business) days. It's $1,000 fine AND one year in jail for second offense.

Florida Statute 403.413. People who throw trash on public streets and highways can be fined up to $500.00 OR jailed up to 60 days. You can be charged with a first-degree misdemeanor and fined up to $1000.00 if dumping more than 15 pounds of trash. The court may also require you to pick up litter along roadways.

Florida State Statute 316.061 states that the driver of any vehicle involved in an accident resulting only in damage to a vehicle or other property must immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident or as close as possible, and remain at the scene of the accident. Any person failing to stop or comply with these requirements shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not more than $500 or by imprisonment for not more than 60 days or by both such fine and imprisonment.

In Missouri, you lose your license for 30 days the first time you refuse a blood, breath, or urine test when arrested for DWI.

Littering carries a $500 fine and up to 15 days in jail.
