I've decided I am going to fast 3 days a week starting tomorrow and ending Friday. From anyone with fasting experience, lend me some tips please! i.e: what to eat, eating schedule, etc.

1. Assuming this is a christian fast with a specific reason in mind I suggest that you decide on your objectives- why are you fasting, what do you plan to gain from the experience?

Prepare your prayer list with the issues you wich to bring before God. Designate days for different issues. Don't crowd everything on one day.

2. Prepare you mind, tell yourself that you can do it.

3. Prepare your body. Ideally you should eat less on the days that lead up to the fast to prepare your digestive system to slow down.

4. Plan on the type of fast you are going to do. One meal per day, fruits and or vegetable, fruit and or vegetable juice or just water. Whatever you choice eat no meat, less starch and remember to hydrate with water. To prevent the shock and desperate hunger pangs I suggest that for day one you do one meal (no meat), day 2 juice (freshly made by you) and day three water only. If you wish to be that extreme or you can just do one meal per day for the three days.


During the fast. Esatablish prayer times and stick to them. Plan times to get away from the crowd, from people and just be with God. Try to avoid idle conversation, unnecesary TV watching. Remember Isaiah 6 when Isaiah declared, "Woe is me for I am undone, I am a man of unclean lips and live among a people of unclean lips." The TV exemplifies in so many ways people of unclean lips, actions etc. try to reduce exposure to this during this time.

Start your fast off with confession. Devote much time to Bible reading and meditation on the Word of God.

Act normal in your day to day activities.

Bible passages to read that highlight the purpose and benefits of fasting- Isaiah 58

Prayer partners hekp to hold you up during this time as well.

God promises in Jeremiah that if you seek him you will find him if you seek him with all your heart. Seek the Lord with all your heart sweetheart, you will find him. God bless you!

There is many different types of fasting.I went on a one month fast before.I tried both.
the first one,The eating schedule is 7pm to 5am.After that no more food and drinks till 7pm again.You can eat whatever you want during that time.
The second one is a vegetarian fast.You cannot have any meals between 6am to 6pm however you are allowed to drink water.
When its time to break your fast,you have to take soy and milk stuff but you can't eat meat or anything with eggs in it.
I can't tell you which is better but it cleanse you spiritually both ways

Do a search for the web site called "Fasting to freedom" it goes over the basics with you like how to prepare for a fast, and etc.. dont wing it. hold off the fast til u learn more about it. there are aslo a lot of fasting books out there " Fasting for dummies" is one of them. It can be dangerous to fast if you dont know what your doing.

I'd say DON'T. I tried 2 days once and I felt very weak by the 2nd day...might pass out behind the wheel or something...too risky. At the very least, eat raw vegetables and fruit occasionally.

at the natural food store they have real maple sugar its in a can, you mix it with some water and and lemon slice.and you do it several times a day. drink lots of water

drink plenty of fluids, maybe get u some ensure
most folks that fast ,they pray alot
good luck, but not such a good idea
