I am a 5'8'' eighteen-year old male. I weigh only 130 pounds, and i am trying to pack on muscle. Could someone tell me how to do that the best way?
I'd appreciate it!

Your body may be naturally skinny, so don't expect dramatic changes. However, you can add some extra muscle with cardio and weight training.

If you want bulk muscle, lift heavy weights for short repetitions. If you want lithe, usable muscle, it's better to lift 50-75% of your maximum lift and go for many repetitions.

This is not a quick job, do have patience. You may notice your limbs being more sharply curved with time, instead of just bulk muscle adding on.

Also, eat some carbohydrates before you work out for energy, and protein after you work out to let the muscles regenerate. And HYDRATE! It's no good if you sweat out all your water, then forget to drink it back in.

Don't try to get instant results by lifting every day. Start with a medium level day, then follow with a hard training day, then a couple days of rest where you can work cardio instead. If you're in pain past the first week or so, you're probably working yourself too hard. Muscles grow by breaking them down so that they regenerate more, so you have to give them that time and fuel to regenerate.

eat a lot of protein. best bet is small meals every 2-3 hours. then lift weights as often as you safely can. you build mass by lifting high amounts for few reps. Also, don't run more than you have to. high aerobic work out can reduce your body's muscle mass (think Prefontaine).
