My 5 month old granddaughter has been sleeping on my mother's queen size bed with no problem. Now she's starting to move around a lot. Any homemade suggestions? I can't set up a portable crib. I thought of making one of those travel n trundle beds, but don't know how. Thanks!!

They sale rails that fit on the edge of beds with to bars that fit under the mattress to prevent children from falling out of beds. They are inexpensive and can be found at Wal-Mart, Toy-r-us, Target and most stores that sale baby items. You can also stack pillows next to the child to prevent the child from falling out the bed.

Just a word of advise--it is not safe to sleep with your infant because the sound of the breathing of another person can cause your baby to relax too much and stop breathing. Studies show that infants who sleep with parents are more likely to die from sids. Not trying to scare you but just trying to make you aware.

Try propping some pillows on either side of her. At five months, she is probably trying to roll over. If all else fails, put a blanket on the floor. Remeber the old saying that "babies can't fall off of the floor."

If you are unable to be with her while she is napping/sleeping, try making her a bed on the floor? She can't fall off of that. You know, this problem will only get worse as she gets older. Good luck and ENJOY.

I know stores like Wal-Mart and Target have this product in the baby section....the look like long triangle pillows tha tyou place along each side of the baby....they velcro on to a special blanket so the pillows don't fall off...but this helps keep the baby in place...I bought and it wrked for us.

Any chance there is a loveseat available for her to sleep on? We have turned one around to face the wall and it worked great for a bed for our 2 year old when we were on vacation.

When my daughter goes to Grandma's we just line pillows up around her so that she can't crawl off. Before long that won't work, because they'll just crawl over the pillows. I would recommend buying a play pen. You can usually get one for about $50. Try Wal-Mart.

If she is small enough, put her in a dresser drawer (take it out of the dresser, of course). Or, put a crib mattress on the floor beside the bed.

I would recommend a bassinet that has an attachment to connect it to the bed. Kind of like she is sleeping w/ you but the bassinet is there to keep her f/ falling off the bed. We had one for our daughter and it worked well, c/ I didn't have to worry about my hubby rolling over on her, and I didn't worry about her rolling off the side.
