Since chocolate brown is such a rich color, I'd go with lighter shades of brown, like a tan or sandy color, maybe even an off-white color.

One of my favorite master bedrooms was designed by a professional who painted the walls chocolate brown and used a robin egg blue and a yellow gold with accent of orange.........was soooo pretty...many people copied the combination of chocolate brown and either a robin egg blue or a shade of soft turquoise blue. The yellow and orange were accent colors

A real pale green almost yellow tint or even better an eggshell white! I have light brown furniture with red walls and pillows-looks great-but with chocolate brown I would go with the eggshell. Good luck and happy painting!

Many shades of blue, green, gold, grey, red, orange, yellow, some purples and all neutral colours work perfectly too. I could be of more help if your question provided a bit more detail... What style are you going for? What other items are you choosing colours for? Good luck.
