Coax cable is normally used to carry signals rather than a voltage or current of any consequence. So, the main thing is that it should not be life-threatening to the pin pusher.

The outer braid of a coax cable is designed to shield the inner "core" wire in order to minimise interference with the signal that is being carried.

Should a pin be pushed through the cable, it has a very good chance of completing a circuit between the outer braid and the inner core.

At best this will degrade the signal, and worst it may render the signal unreadable by the receiving device.

In summary - you should not end up getting an electrical shock, but you TV signal will probably degrade. :)

you are going to have to drill a hole thru the brick, a 1/4" masonary bit should do the job. Make sure by drilling a hole in a scrap piece of wood first to make sure the cable fits. Before drilling, go inside the house and cut out the drywall smaller than the outlet plate, which will cover the hole later and check for any electrical wiring or plumbing and move your drilling location if needed. Go back outside and drill thru the brick or block at this point and feed your cable thru. Stuff a little extra cable down in the wall space after you've pulled enough for your interior run. When you are sure you have all you need, put a little silicone caulking outside around the cable at the brick to weatherproof and keep out the bugs.(silicone caulking can be found in almost any color). You can pretty much push the cable thru most any type of insulation you find in the wall. Hope this helps.

if the metal pin contacts the main copper wire with the metal sheilding, (metal mesh like braids of metal strands, that act as a covering around the cable), then U ground the signal into the sheilding. U probably won't get a signal. if U get a signal, it may be very weak & won't register.

the pin if it makes connection with the core will short the signal out with the worst case scenerio of cutting the core in two(depends on size of pin and size of core). if it makes it in without touching the core but next to the core you will get radio interference. if you stick it in and pull it out nothing will happen as long as that point stays dry - wet will cause a short.

You may create a connection between the core & the braided shield. This will comprimise & short out the incoming / outgoing signal.
