what are some pros and cons of the war in Iraq?

Pros:
Saddam is not in power and is dead
Saddam's sons are also dead
Saddam didn't launch any weapons of mass destruction (yes he did have them), to include the nuclear weapons he was attempting to purchase from Russia and the criminal underground.
Many, many terrorists are dead
The boosted economy in the US due to many jobs being created by the war, and factories manufacturing military vehicles and supplies, food services, ect.
Israel and Kuwait are actually safe from Saddam
Iraq is literally floating in crude oil

Cons:
Over 3,000 soldiers have been killed
Iran and Pakistan continue to supply arms to the insurgents
The war is being run by the opposition to the president, and has become a "politically correct" war.
There is no end in sight of the war
It will take many months, if not years for the US to withdraw from Iraq
The new Iraqi government is lazy and corrupt, and are not even trying to help the US with the insurgent problem, or the smuggling in of insurgent weapons from Pakistan and Iran.

Pros:
Iraq has become the center of our war on terror.

We have finally responded to the acts of war, murder and terror perpetrated by the Islamic terrorists against Americans since 1979.

The terrorists can no longer believe they can continue with their tactics of indiscriminate murder without any consequences.

We have found out who our real allies are.

Cons:
As with all wars, we have far too many young men and women paying the ultimate price.

It has caused a serious division among the American public at a time when we desperately need to unify and be resolute in our objectives.

We are winning ^_^
We are proving a point to the world that America isn't ignorant when someone comes and kills a whole bunch of people (9/11)
We are showing we're not ignorant when a country threatens another country
We care enough about our earth to help a country that needs help.
People are becomeing heros
To get Peace you need War (how do you think we got our independence?)

Cons:
People die
Countries thing that we stick our nose in other people business

Pro- base in middle east. Military presence on Iran border, significant control near the main oil artery in the world.
Con- 1 trillion dollars of debt, military forces exhausted, deaths, loss of credibility in the United States, and decline of world oil production

As I see it no pros other than the "trying" to help. My brother is over there, has been for over a year and they keep pushing back his return date. Everyday I go with out hearing from him I dread the call saying something bad had happened. I pray for the safe return of all the troops over there. Each of them have Someone over here that loves them and misses them.

i dont know how anybody in their right minds would want to continue the war (or ''finish what we started'') if they actually took the .28 seconds to look it up

PROS: Oil. Lots of oil.

CONS: 3,000 soldiers have died. Many innocent people have died. There is no more reason for us to stay there, especially with the puppet government not working.
