Well . . . there is the whole 'woman at the well' thing . . .there's the 'Martha got mad at Mary' thing . . . the 'poor widow' thing . . . the 'woman with the issue' thing . . .
It is mostly the way Jesus treated women that lends a promotion of equality.
But we are talking Bible times and women had a long way to go to get where they are today! Those were some entrenched times!

In Christ there is no male or female ... but remember for the submission verses, that women are to be in submission to men as men are to be in submission to Christ. We are also called to submit to each other.
As for those so-called skeptics, you should take a look at most ancient practices and realize that we are where we are today (not perfect still) because of Christianity.

Actually where paul tells women to be respect their husbands actually is a great one for equality. Because he tells men to love their wives as Christ loved the church. And if you know anything about the life of Jesus, you know how he demonstrated his love to the church. Jesus was all about service. I think Paul put that in there for a reason. That verse is also a great illustration of what it takes for a marriage to work. Men need respect from their wives, and give love when they receive it. Women need love, and give respect when they receive it.

You are forgetting the custom of that time. Really it has only been in this century that women could vote. In the Middle Eastern countries they still live in submission. The important thing to remember is that Jesus befriended woman, He would go to the home of Martha and Mary and sit and talk with them and eat with them. The first one to see the resurrected Jesus was Mary. Jesus treated woman and children well, inspite of the custom of that day to put woman in second place.

We are not equal.. There is a headship women's head is man but man also has a head and that is Jesus Christ and Jesus head is God
1 Cor. 11:3-10
but the dignity of woman's position in gods arrangement is shown by the fact that Jehovah refers to his own organization of loyal spirit creatures as a woman, his wife, the mother of his sons.(Rev.12:1; Gal. 4:26)
1 Cor. 14:33 for God is [a God] not of disorder but of peace.....
I never really had to much problem with this arrangement. I no some people do,but I think that in order to have "order" there needs to be some type of headship.. Also to think about it Jesus is under the headship of Jehovah God and he finds great satisfaction in that relationship..
Well I hope that some of this helps.

The Bible says that women should submit to their husbands. Not that they should submit to all men. Marriage is like a dance where the husband leads and the wife follows. Like in the dance the wife has the most important role even though she is submissive.
My pastor once said " Women don't need to submit to your husbands, that's only if you want your marriage to work"
Good point.

I can't quote the specific verses offhand but consider Deborah the Judge in the Old Testament (and her cowardly General) and consider the female church leaders that Paul refers to in the New Testament.

A Canaanite woman from that region got here to him, crying out, 'Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering extraordinarily from demon-possession. Jesus did not answer a be conscious. So his disciples got here to him and entreated him, 'deliver her away, for she keeps crying out after us.' He [Jesus] responded, 'i become despatched in consumer-friendly words to the lost sheep of Israel.' the female got here and knelt in the previous him. 'Lord, help me!' she stated. He [Jesus] responded 'it isn't accurate to take the toddler's [Jews] bread [advantages and miracles reserved for them] and toss it to their dogs [the Canaanite, or the Philistines].' 'sure, Lord' she stated, 'yet even the dogs devour the crumbs that fall from their masters' table.' Then Jesus responded, 'woman, you've large faith! Your request is granted.' And her daughter become healed from that very hour. (From the NIV Bible, Matthew 15:22-28) With all due recognize to Prophet Jesus (AS) i do no longer believe in that verse in spite of the undeniable fact that i do believe he become despatched on jews as reported in bible numerous cases. although im particular christianity did no longer have any racial inequality like each revealed books .. someone had the incorrect "holy ghost" suggestion

1 Corinthians 11:11-12 :: "Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man nor man of woman; for as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. And all things are from God."
