Should I tell him that asian women hate black men or should I let him figure it out on his own. He is really nice and I don't want him to go through all the racism an asian parent would put him through, and plus asian women don't like blacks men anyway so he is just waisting his time......

Stay out of his business, he doesn't need you making decisions for him, if he makes a bad choice that's life and his decision.

I've had that explained to me this way... Asian people believe closely associating with African Americans will lower their social status, and Asian cultures are very big on status. So the parents are just trying to protect their children, which is why it's okay for some to go with whites. He'll probably find Asian women curious about him and even friendly, but cautious. My observations and experience have been different. Asian women are interested in Black men allright, but the ones willing to do something about it want it kept a secret.

You are drawing a very fine line here. Not ALL asian women hate black men. Open your mind and give your cousin the benefit of the doubt. People are rarely what you expect them to be. You may be wrong, you know?

I have a lot of female oriental friends, and they all explain to me that their parents would never approve of them dating a Black man. Have many of you even visited the pacific rim? A professor friend of mine has explained to me that most of this Black students that go there always have severe problems with their teachers. One of my friend's parents, when she was a child would tell her that "the scary Black man would get her" if ever disobeyed them. They have a lot of disdain for Blacks, and believe that it will lower their status. I am not saying that there aren't exceptions to this, but their parents are generally coming from a different perspective. A Korean friend of mine explained to me that before coming to North America, the stereotypes on TV about Blacks was that they were jobless, drug addicts who are womanizers. Many orientals view successful Blacks as tokens.
