What has pleasing the Gods to do with your teaching someone young table manners? Yes you are a good uncle if you thought him to eat with a spoon. You probably saved yourself or the child's parents/guardians the trouble of cleaning the mess that the child would have made if he spoiled the furniture or his hands. And people will not wonder about his upbringing when he ate in public.
