Well, claiming to know things about the spiritual path is a bit of a trap. Certainly I've been on the path for quite a while now. I, too, have seen my share of charlatans. People in your position are a bit vulnerable to that. As a general rule, the more they want to charge you, the less spiritual thay are.
There is a confusion between religion and spirituality.
Underneath all the main religions, when you strip away the dogma and the myth, there is a fundamental layer where they meet. The path to that layer is the spiritual journey.
ALL the great religions have it. But they tend to keep it quiet. The way is usually carried by monks and nuns, by Kabbalists and by Islamic mystics.
You might find books more informative than the net. Try 'The Open Secret'. I've lost my copy and can'tremember the name of the author but I'm sure you'll find it easily enough.
Eventually you have to put down the seeking and start actually doing stuff. Meditation, of whichever sort, (Zen, deep prayer, whirling), is the road to the spirit. In the meantime I suggest you look at the various traditions, decide which one you like and investigate that.
If Buddhism, (which has a great tradition of spiritual growth and enlightenment), appeals to you then read 'Awakening the Buddha Within' by Lama Surya Das. Or 'What the Buddha Taught' by Walpola Rahula'.
At its root Buddhism is about escaping from suffering, it just turns out that that escape is a spiritual one. (And no, you don't have to shave your head). If that route appeals to you or you feel I could help in any way, then please feel free to email me at...

Take heart though. This feeling of stuckness, of irritation and disillusionment is a good sign. It means you're getting ready to break out.
I do wish you all the best in your journey.
Good luck,
Jon C

Here in R&S you will find a mixture of people with a variety of beliefs including no belief at all. The majority of the time people are friendly and open and willing to share their own thoughts and experiences.
Just like everywhere you will also find people who are not as(struggles to use a non-specific word) tolerant as far as other faiths go. Sometimes they can be short-sighted when they are presented with a different point of view.
So basically R&S is just like life only centered (usually) on a theme of topics.
If you are searching a good place to go for nonjudemental information is www.belief.net You can take the belief-o-matic to show how your views compre with a large amount of faiths.
And yes, we all go through searching and changes, that's a part of life. Ultimately though you have to do what is right in your own heart and don't let ANY of us push you into thinking that one way is BEST or RIGHT.
Blessings,
Zimmi

I'm not sure what exactly you are looking for but I have been a Christian all my life with some backsliding but am now enjoying my new found life in Christ. God loves you and wants you to be happy, he can be apart of your everyday life if you'll let him. There are many sites that can help you in your walk. Joyce Meyers is a great teacher of the Word as well as Joel Osteen, James and Betty Robinson, I can add alot more if you'd like to email me. Alot of these ministries offer free monthly magazines and lots of prayer. Hope this helps, please don't give up. The bible says God wants you to have life in abundance and believe me you can. Contact me if you like. Good Luck and may God bless you!

Spirituality covers a wide range and so does religion. Of course you will have many people say email them and that is because they are hoping to teach you what they have been taught. My advise is to start going to different churches and see what appeals to you, if you aren't the conversitive type hell fire and brimstone, try the Unitarian Universilists church. If you like showy signs, and a lot of weird speaking and want to believe in modern day miracles try any Pentecostal church. If you want to have a one way ticket punched try the southern Baptist Once saved always saved bunch. The choice is yours.

I hesitate to say I actually know things, as my wife! I have gone through things and more are in the future. I would gladly welcome any questions you have and will genuinely try to aid you. But, I never know when I will be on so emails would be a good way otherwise as some have said you will get the full gambit. From the quip to zip you will get an eye full either way. But, no one will charge you for it!

Here's a site where you can receive good Bible teaching for free. Go to www.derekprince.org
You may also try going to
http://www.cmalliance.org/devotions/tozer/tozer.jsp#
go to the A.W. Tozer sermons.
Tozer was a true man of God who preached an uncompromised message.
If you are looking for guidance on this website, you are swimming in shark infested waters.
You may get some insight, but it's likely to be like looking for a piece of bread in the forest.

Spirituallity is what we should all strive for, not religion. Religion is about repeating the same old prayer or tradition. Spirituallity is about having a personal relationship with God. This is not a good site to discuss spirituallity because what you usually get is religion and religion bashing.
Good luck with your quest. Find a good church that isn't into the B.S. but teaches about personal relationships.

Philosophy can help with spiritual enlightenment. What exactly do you believe is possible in the world around you? Anything, nothing, don't know? This will lead to more questions. Just keep an open mind and your spirituality will thrive.

The truth is within you. To be true to your true self is to live in life & truth not "beliefs". Beliefs are of the "world" the truth is ones self. 999.999% of people are asleep so it will seem at first a very lonely road. Study & practace meditation. Also check out sunman & the one I ams Q & A on here to name a couple.Seek and you will find.
