No, they do not have the same BEC tuning mechanisms that you can recalibrate. Ours can be recalibrated every night to ensure that we have an appropriate reading. The ones on ebay can be dangerously unaccurate.

They are accurate enough. Remember that your BAC can keep going up after you drink as your body absorbs the alcohol. So you if you have your last drink, take the test and pass, you may still be over the limit if you did not wait long enough.

If you don't want a DUI then don't drink and drive. It wouldn't kill one of the girls to take turns at being designated driver.

They will probably work okay as a guideline (especially the more expensive ones), but I wouldn't ONLY rely on it.
Why not take turns being Designated Driver or split cabfare?

No matter which one you get it wont hold up in a court of law because they are not reliable. Thats why its best to do a blood or urine test.
