Yes Japanese or Asian inspired tattoos are in a league of their own. There is so much detail in some of the tattoos. I was in Japan recently and met some very talented Japanese artists who are taking tattooing to a whole new level.

geisha tattoos are really cool. get your zodiac sign in the geisha as well, like Aquarius for example. the geisha would be pouring a long, trailing pot of water. tattoos like that are cool and original. the are also Asian inspired. get the tattoo on one of your arms. the geisha is whole, pure, and a huge symbol of Asian culture with a lot of respectful meaning!

there are tons of resources online! i actually incorporated some traditional korean art into my newest tattoo. i looked at korean museums online and saved the pictures from the art. much of the ancient art revolves around birds and trees, water and such. so do a search for "korean art" or "chinese art" or "japanese art" and see what you can come up with. i don't think you'll have a problem finding something great to work with.
