If you paint the door a darker color than the room, it will make the room look smaller. If you paint the door the same as the room or lighter it will make the room look larger.

Depends: if you have a dark room and paint the door light, it will make the room look larger. If you have a light room and paint the door dark, the room will look smaller.

I think that painting a door a lighter color makes a room appear bigger, and a darker color--smaller

It depends on what color you paint the door. Dark colors recede (make the area look smaller) and light colors expand the area, making it look larger. If you want the room to look large, it's easiest to paint the door the same color as the walls or a shade or two lighter.

it depends what color you paint it. painting it the same color as the walls will make the room look bigger and bring less attention to the door. painting it a different color than the walls will make the door stand out and take away attention from the walls. a wooden door is considered warmer and more welcoming. if the place is real contempo or mod i'd paint it if it was wood.

bigger.we painted all doors the same color as the walls and it makes for a larger, longer looking wall... had different colors in the past but it seemd to "break-up' the wall.

depends on the color. dark colors make it look smaller and white or light colors makes it look bigger.
I've seen houses that had dark colors and dark drapes and when blinds were put at the windows and sheer curtains and light colored paint on the walls it looked twice as big.

It depends on the paint color. It won't make a huge difference either way.
