I think I own a completely fresh, unused copy of Windows XP. I want to sell it. Does anyone know the number or email contact at microsoft I can use (not one of my two free support questions) to have them check their master list and see if the serial number on my copy of windows has ever been registered with them? I just want to know if my copy of windows is brand new and unused. How do I find this out?

it has been registered (windows on your computer) or you would not be using it now, you only have 30 days to register it or it won't boot up.

has for the windows cd you have there should be a ID KEY No with it, if you have not got it, then if you sell it the new owner would not be able to install it with out that number

so keep it in sa fe place it could be the one your using right now
