I happen to support them, since it involves attacking Al Queda strongholds. However, I think Bush chose the time to start this attack in sync with his speech on Iraq, in order to show us he hasn't fogotten about the REAL enemy. At least he finally has did something right with the military.

I'm not so sure about so-called "al quaeda strongholds". In fact I'm not so sure about anything this adminstration tells us. It's like Iraq. "100 Iraqis dead; 2 U.S. solldiers...112 Iraqis dead...1 U.S. soldier" It's all so one-sided but they report it that way so that we will be convinced that more Iraqis are dead than U.S. troops (as though that makes a difference) Again and as for Somalia, who knows? Kind of hard to swallow that they know EXACTLY how many were killed since it was an 'airstrike" - I mean like who was on the ground counting? much less who lived to report it?
...and as far as the Bush speech is concerned, no matter what he tells us, and no matter what the Democrats or Republicans say against it, 20,000 troops or more are going to be deployed to Iraq before the end of January. Watch and see. (The Democrats aren't smart enough to stop this "surge").
Oh and yes. Those "20,000 or more" troops wil be STAYING in Iraq, for some time to come. Watch and see.

The bombing attacks in Somalia seem to be reasonable. First, the bombing targeted members of Al Qaida terrorists who were involved in embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenya. Second, the bombing was conducted with the conformance of the government of Somalia.

This is in stark contrast with what happened in Iraq.

The timing of the bombing somehow raises some questions. Why was it not done long time ago?. Why was it carried out just in time before Bush is to make his speech on the Iraq issue?.

No. A130 gunships are NOT 'surgical' weapons by any stretch of the imagination. How many innocent people were killed or injured by the attacks? If a known murderer lived next door to you, would it be okay for the government to send in airstrikes, knowing they might 'accidentally' hit your house and kill your children?
