What stages are you talking about? I am assuming that people are complaining because your dog isnt what THEY think it should be. Well, if YOUR happy with the dog then tell them all to bugger off because every dogs personality is different and just like people they develope at different rates. If your worried because the dog still acts like a puppy even though its 3 or 4 years old its probably just the way your dog likes to act. Most of the stages people talk about are just personality and behaviour adjustments as it gets older but just like some people, some dogs never grow up. Larger dogs stay idiotic puppies longer than small dogs. Training will help a boisterous pup settle down and be more controllable. If your dog hasnt gone thru the digging stage or chewing stage then maybe your dog never will. My doberman never did and my springer spaniel still likes a dig at 6 years old. Dont worry what others think as long as you love your dog just the way he is.

You don't need help, you need to explain to others how you did it.
People will give a sock (with a knot in it) and then get mad because the dog is going through a stage and started eating their socks. Dog can not tell the difference. I think you are doing things right.

Dogs are like children. I have 6 children ,all grown now, Thank GOD. I also have 5 dogs. Each one, dogs and children are different and do seem to go through stages. The thing is, I think thats what makes them different and special. Dont worry, just try to enjoy your pet.

Ha! There are generally some common stages...but if your baby doesn't have any problems, don't worry. They don't HAVE to go through them. Like fear stages etc. Not all dogs are the same.

Count yourself lucky and move on.

What sort of stages are you talking about? Are you talking about teething? Are you talking about challenging you for dominance?

If it's something behavioral, I wouldn't be worried. All dogs are different, and one behavioral stage isn't necessarily going to apply to every dog.

But your question wasn't very specific. If it's some sort of medical stage, then you should take him to the vet for a check-up, and explain your scenario to the vet. Feel free to ask them lots of questions.

You need to give us more information as to what you mean by stages, and just what it is that people are complaining about. Sorry.

what stages are you talking about? I highly recommend you get your dog spayed or neutered immediately. if you have educated yourself and studied dog behavior you have nothing to worry about
