If I know the person and I know they're joking around, then most of the time it doesn't offend me, but if i don't know them and they don't know me, then i'm extremely offended.

Regardless who says it, I'm offended. But more so when the person is white. Using that word has become so mainstream with the rappers that any and everyone feels as though it's OK for them to say it. That word is demeaning, demoralizing, and is used to belittle the African American race. Those people in the media should be setting an example.

I certainly become offended because they are generally foul mouthed jerks who will put down any race. The " n" word is being re evaluated by blacks themselves it was okay to say it to each other they are now having second thoughts on the matter as they themselves encourage rather than discourage the use of the " N " word

I wouldn't say I would over react but i think there is a limit that people pass, when they hav to much fun. Ithink people should watch what they say. Like I saw the commercial and i thought that was a bit too much. So no i don't thin your over-reacting. =]

I get offended when it is used in an offensive context (to demean someone). But otherwise, it's just a word - and I would feel equally about the word coming from anyone, regardless of race.

Depends on the context. I usually don't get very offended over any word. They are just words. I get more offended by someone treating my or my family badly.
