I know it's eather 11 or 12. I have a friend that babysits and shes 12.
I also want to know the legal age for staying home alone in Ohio.

contact the American Red Cross. They offer babysitting courses(or at least they used to). Very helpful. And they could tell you the legal ages.

It's 12, I'm pretty sure. I remember a long time ago when I wanted to baby sit but I couldn't because I was still 11. It was a bummer :\. Now I've got an actual job-job though (like... actually get-checks-in-the-mail-job, I'm not saying baby sitting isn't a tough job!).
I think you also need training first, probably to teach you CPR and such. 12 is probably also the legal age for staying home alone since it's the age for babysitting (at least it was four years ago).

Is the important thing not gaining the trust of people by doing good things and behaving so that they will let you do this. How someon presents themselves may be more important than a year or two in there age.

no younger than 16, if that kid's parents are letting 11 or 12 years babysit!? duh....thats children babysitting children...this world has no common sense
