Don't feed him Science Diet, it is expensive and not the healthiest out there. I work at Petco and I always suggest Natural Balance or Natural Choice. Dogs love it and it is extremely healthy. It's not really a good thing when you see WHEAT as the first ingredient, and many put artificial fillers in the food that fills up your dog with unnecessary product. Natural Balance and Natural Choice are both very good, healthy all natural foods, the first ingredient is Chicken, which is a good sign. Also, with foods like Science Diet, Purina, Eukanuba, Pro Plan, or Iams, the keeping ratio to the losing ratio is bad. What I mean is, for example, with IAMS the ratio is 3:1. (Your dog will poop 3 parts, and keep only one) But with Natural Balance and Natural Choice is it the opposite (Keep 3, poop 1 part) Natural Balance is what I feed mine, but Natural Choice has many more options.
OR....The official BEST kind of dog food, which may be a bit more expensive than these, is Innova Evo. You can only order it online, but it is known as the BEST pet food out there. Look it up online and read about it
And when switching dog food, I hope you know to do it slowly. Usually it will take up to five days. Just throw a handful into his normal cup of food, and continue to add more as each day goes by, slowing replacing the old food, and eventually feeding only the new stuff. It's hard on their digestive system to just take away the old food that he is used to and just start to feed him something completely different.
Hope this helps!

When did chicory, carrots, peas, apples and cranberry turn out to be puppy meals materials? There is not so much truly change among those meals. One makes use of fowl and turkey, the opposite simplest makes use of fowl. Neither makes use of corn or wheat. The largest change is the end result and veggies within the fowl soup company. Both are made by means of the identical enterprise and its a well wager that the principal materials come from the identical assets. Unless there's an allergic reaction drawback your puppy shall be first-rate with both meals. Feed whichever one is less complicated to get. The costs are near ample to the identical, in particular on the grounds that how youngster pomeranian will consume. If you had been feeding a running puppy you would realize a change among the ones meals however now not with a common loved ones puppy.

If I had the money, I'd feed Innova. It's a very good, no filler dog food. I've heard good things about Timberwolf too. My super picky eater needs some canned "Addiction". It's from New Zeland, and has very gamey kinds of meat. Natural Balance is a good one.
Kirkland series (from costco) is a good food for the price.
Please don't feed Science Diet, Iams, Alpo, Old Roy....they are so full of fillers/corn or fat that they are really bad for the dogs.

eukanuba is good. why did you switch the food if he was doing just fine on it? the dog was used to a certain diet of food and has obviously developed an allergy to what you are now feeding him.
oh and if he is gaining weight and you aren't the only person in the house, check to see if someone isn't slipping him burger king or mcdonalds on the side.

Actually, you're spending far too much. I was told about a cat food that is sold at WalMart called Maxximum Nutrition. A friend that raises persians told me that this is the best food she's used and she and her persian breeding friends have been trying to get WalMart to disclose who makes this as it is the ONLY food out there that isn't expensive with an actual meat ingredient listed first in the list of ingredients.
I have been feeding my dogs ( a Japanese Chin and a Golden retriever/blue heeler mix) the dog food version of this food and they love it!!! It also lists an actual meat product as its first ingredient. Try this- it is good for your dog and your pocketbook both!!!

My dog is a Cavalier also. I feed her weight control Kibble & Bits. In fact I feed her only weight control food, and give her carrots and apples for snacks . She really likes them. Caveliers need a good bit of exercise, too. My little one is 19 months. Hope this might help. Good Luck.

You can try out Del Monte's products. They have come up with a wide range of new pet food which covers dog food as well.
My labrador Max and my golden retriever Jack really like these products and they are fit and fine. Regarding weight ..i would suggest you should make regular work-out for your doggy.

I feed my little guy Nutro Natural Choice Small Puppy Bites. He absolutely loves this stuff. One time we got him Purina Little Bites Indoor Complete and he hated it... practically turned his nose up at it. He's 3 months old so I thought it wasn't like he had gotten too used to the Nutro. But he definitely let us know what he likes. Plus I compared the two and Nutro is much better for him and his little tummy.
