Do you believe in Ghosts, Spirits???

Question

I think I have a spirit in my house. The other night, my husband and I were lying in our bed watching T.V. and the touch lamp, kept going on and off. It has three settings. Sometimes it would go to the first setting and then shut off, and then it would go through all 3 settings and then shut off. We could definately feel a presence in our room. My father-in-law just recently passed away and I have a weird feeling that it was him. So we asked out loud if it was him, to turn the lamp on to the second setting and it did. Everytime we would ask a question the lamp would go off and on like we asked. It was really weird. But I wasn't scared for some reason. But when I walked out of the bedroom and into the living room I got a really scary feeling. I had similar things happen when I was a young girl, like all the appliances turning off and on in the house at once, and hanging lamps swinging back and forth, but this is the first time in some years. And no I am not crazy or on drugs.

NOT ON DRUGS, NOT CRAZY, NOT INSANE. Do you get it now? Why do some of you have to be so mean??

OK I believe you. But! It is not a ghost. It is an evil angel impersonating him. Even if he appeared as a wispy looking ghost, it is not him. You have to trust me. They love to confuse and upset people. That is probably why you are having that scared feeling. You might also experience a claustrophobic feeling like a thick oppressive presence is in the room. Some people have even been woken up being choked by an unseen hand. This may sound like a house that is possessed. The same stuff happens for "hauntings" and "possessions" because it is the same beings behind it. Usually this type of stuff starts by a person letting it in, perhaps a seance or playing with a Ouija board. Sometimes even music with violent lyrics, or perhaps they are simply trying to scare you. To get rid of this problem there is only one solution. Claiming the power of Jesus. Now it doesn't work if you haven't invited him into your heart and to forgive your sins. This is illustrated in the book of acts. Pardon the long scripture it is worth reading though.



13 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out." 14 Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. 15 One day the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?" 16 Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding. 17 When this became known to the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, they were all seized with fear, and the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor. 18 Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed their evil deeds. 19 A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas.

So you have to make sure that you aren't using Jesus' name like some kind of magic word. But, Jesus gave us authority over satan and his angels, so if you command them in HIS Holy name, they will obey and that stuff will stop. You have to have faith in His word that He CAN and WILL do what He promises. This is the truth and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I trust that what you are describing is an actually true occurrence, and so I am providing this information that you may be able to deal with the situation accordingly.

Touch lamps are highly sensitive to changes in line voltage, spikes, or drops. These can cause a touch lamp to run through its cycles. My dad had two that did the same thing. (One on the same circuit as a washing machine, the other was on a circuit that also had a motor. You can test this yourself by quickly unplugging and plugging back in the touch lamp. Everytime you do that it should change to a different setting. Personally I don't beleive in ghosts (Really, my answer is usually i don't know. It's possible, but...) but I do beleive there is something out there. and even if you think it "says" that it is your father-in-law doesn't mean that's its true without doubt. As far as i know, spirits (if they exist) they can lie too.

If it is your father-in- law ,he needs to move on.Ask Jesus to make him leave.I believe I had an experience with my Dad,about 2 years after he died,just once though.It could be moisture causing your lamp to malfunction,or it could be the demonic trying to make you think it's Dad and trying to lure you into opening a door you won't be able to close .So my advice is to ask it to leave in Jesus name.I've seen a ghost when I was 17 and had an encounter at a school at night when I was 18 with 3 other guys ,so yeah I believe and I'm a six foot two trucker who also drinks nothing harder than Coffee.I encountered my Dad when I was about 44 years old about 10 yrs. ago.

I never used to, until my parents lived at this one place when I was growing up. I actually got used to them after a while, lol, seriously. There was different "versions" in that place though, they appeared different. Some looked very human, while other looked like a figured smoke person, could make out they;re movements in detail. Then there was others that appeared as a smoke blob but would move towards you in a walking and drifting motion. It was a very old house, a very interesting old house too. Was also eerie at times, but yes, I moved out of there a firm believer.

If you accept the Biblical explanation of the nature of things, unquestionably there are spirits. You are a spirit. It just so happens that you are an embodied spirit. There is the Spirit of God, also known as the Holy Spirit, there are human spirits, but I do not believe disembodied human spirits linger for any length of time on the earthly plain. There are angels of God, there are fallen angels under the leadership Satan and the most common disembodied spirit beings are demons. Virtually all cultures have a belief in demons. The difference comes in how they are characterized - what is their nature. The Bible always speaks of them as unclean and evil spirits.
They operate rather freely in the world but have limitations to their power. They prefer to indwell a body so as to express themselves through that body. They appear to be somewhat territorial. They are apt to manifest themselves if they are solicited, especially through occult practices such as seances, ouija boards, chanting, etc. Once invited they are not so readily dismissed. They are subject to the name of Jesus, but mainly through the faith of a believer. Invoking the name of Jesus without submission to His Lordship may actually aggravate the situation. I recommend you speak to someone locally who has some knowledge of such things. If you have been involved in any occult practices, these need to be confessed and repented of. One essential principle for successfully dealing with evil spirits is this: "Submit yourself therefore unto God; resist the devil and he will flee from you" (James 4:7) I emphasize again, this verse is written to believers.

Well if u believe in jesus than u should believe in spirits because when jesus rose after he died he was a spirit!Also sometimes on the discovery channel they have a show that shows when a guy goes in to peoples house when people think they have gost and spirits check it out on the discovery channel!Its intresting.

Simular, moved into my Great Grandmothers house after she passed. She was with us, strange things happened. I told her for three days that she had died and needed to go to the other side and listed the people waiting there for her. After that nothen strange happen again.

Just know that he must have loved all of you.

Angels are not dead people. dead people cannot think or feel and certainly don't haunt houses.
It is wicked angels or spirit persons. Who came to earth in the earliest beginnings. Genesis 6 and Jude 6
Tells how they left there positions in heaven and came down to the earth and they do bother people by acting like dead relatives or friends. Revelation 12:7 tells how micheal and his angels had a war with satan and his angels he threw them out and down to our earth where they mislead people and cause them to do all manner of bad things. So someone is in your house but it isn't your father in law. Remember when Jesus saw a whole legion of demons in this one man?

Satan will imitate the loved ones to get his foot in the door as they say so that more evil can come through. Be aware! It is not of GOD.

There are NO spirits or ghosts. And even if there were, how does a non-corporeal entity affect the material world?
