No,but if your parents and grandparents find out, they will have trust issues with you.Its best to obey your parents. But if you STILL really want to disobey them, put your profile on private, don't do anything bad on that website, and talk it over with your parents and grandparents. But it still is not trustworthy.

Actually, no it's not bad at all. However, it's best to listen to your parents. For the most part, they just probably heard all the bad things one can do with MySpace. You have to convince them that you will use MySpace just for friendly purposes. Show them that there is no possible harm.
If you pretend to obey but actually make an account and get caught, I bet your parents will be pretty mad.

How old are you? If you're very young, then, no you shouldn't have one. If you're older, just be smart. Don't fall for any guy via a profile or post ridiculously provocative photoshopped pictures of yourself. That's so silly. Don't use your myspace to gossip or put anyone down, either. Remember that anything you put online can be seen by the whole world--act accordingly. (mature!)

NO, and YES.
If you have a private myspace page, then only your friends can communicate with you.

If you have a PUBLIC myspace page, then EVERYONE will contact you. INCLUDING people you do not want to talk to.

We had to install NetNanny on our son's computer to 100% BLOCK his myspace access because he became obsessed with it, using it all night, instead of sleeping, and crazy people started calling him day and night. Yes, he gave out our phone number. It took WEEKS to get him away from the pull of myspace. He is 15.

Interesting to note; when he had a POSITIVE myspace page, NO ONE WROTE TO HIM. When he did death, dying, killing, gothic, etc. - he was FLOODED with emails from everywhere.

They probably don't want you to have one due to security issues. You should respect their wishes, but if you feel like you have to not listen to them, then at least try to make your myspace concealed. Don't give away personal information and make sure you know who you're adding as your friends! Myspace isn't so incredibly wonderful anyway, it might just be more trouble than it's worth.

If you're getting a unanimous opinion from those who love you more than anyone else in this world, then why would you question it? Don't do Myspace. There are more fun things to do...like sit around and answer questions over here! Now that's living.

Yes. Your family only wants what is best for you. They are not trying to just be mean to you. They realize the hazards of the computer . Do they know you are asking questions on here? They probably wouldn't approve of that either because you never know what kind of person you are in contact with.

not at all. but make a list of why it means so much to you, and why it might be scary , show both sides, it will show them you care and want to be older. give them reasons why it could be good, and what can you to do if something bad happens. make up a plan for what to do if things get scary first, and then ask for their help in answers so you are prepared. you have to show them you trust them too and respect them, so ask why they disaaprove, and explain, and maybe try to meet in the middle to comprimise
