I had stopped taking my birth control for about two weeks.. I had sex once and started taking them again. Last night I started bleeding and having small cramps. My lower stomach is also hard. I am still breast feeding, so I haven't had my period in 6 months.. Can you help? I know I need to go to the doctor, but I dont have a ride until Friday.

You cannot assume you had a miscarriage unless you had a positive pregnancy test. Your symptoms are common when a person goes off & on the pill at the wrong points in the cycle. Your body gets confused from the hormones and it could take a month or so for your period to get back on track even though you are protected by the pill.

Your best bet is a blood test from your doctor if the bleeding has been heavy and accompanied by strong cramping.

Hope this helps! =)

I had no cramping w/ my first miscarriage, but I had heavy, (I mean like urinating,HEAVY), blood. Then, w/ my second miscarriage, I had both. Each miscarriage is different, and length of pg. also plays into it. The statistics of women having miscarriages and not even knowing it are high, so it could very well be that you are miscarrying and only recognize it b/c of the fact you were on the pill and stopped taking it. I hope that it is not, so, good luck to you.

a miscarriage is when you bleed extremely and like junks will come out of your blood, i dont think you are having a miscarriage, maybe just weird side effects because you got off your pills and are starting to use them again.
