I was told that if you put baking soda in with your shampoo and wash your hair it will help get rid of the color that you previouslt dyed it if you dont like it. Does this work. How harsh is it on your hair. It will only give it breakage right? It wont fall out or anything will it?

That is not true. Baking soda is a natural stripper for your hair. You use it when you have a build up of hair spray and gel that you can't get out with regular shampoo. It won't hurt your hair at all. It helps too when you mix in a little salt. It exfoliates the hair strand. Your hair will gradually get lighter as the color will fade over time. You can buy a specific color lightener, but it has peroxide in it and it is a little damaging to your hair.

If your color is fading out that fast, you are probably using a semi permanent color or demi permanent color. You can try what is called Permanent color, which wont fade but will grow out with your hair, so every 4-8 weeks youd just have to get a retouch. I reccommend going to a salon and having it done professional rather than buying store bought color. Also, I would shy away from completely black, once it permanent black its very hard to get any other color, including brown. Hope this helps!

you can use it to speed up the fading of a temporary or semi-pemanent color. you can also use baking soda with your shampoo to get rid of product build-up.

I dont think you should...doesnt sound like a good idea to me. You can dye it over again to keep it a different color.
