I normally wear Adidas sneakers, which are flat as hell. I am exactly 5'5". Some guys notice me then.

However, if I wear shoes with 1.5 heels, I swear more guys notice me. Is the 1.5 inches really that important? I mean, it only makes me 5'6.5".

I already have long legs. People tell me I look 5'7".

I am only 110 pounds, meaning I'm skinny either way.

So, why?

I usually wear business/dress pants with the heels. I don't wear skirts or dresses normally.

I only wear heels when I have an interview for an internship or a job btw....

I like sneakers and I wear them most days because they are comfortable. I'm still a student at university, so it's unrealistic to dress up.

My normal, everyday clothes = hooded, zip-up sweatshirt, t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. Basically all casual.

Higher heels tend to make your legs look longer and make you look a bit thinner. That is why women love to wear them despite the havoc they wreak on their feet.

Personally, I don't think sneakers are particularly attractive, and you probably don't either. You may carry yourself a bit differently when you are wearing the other shoes. Self-confidence gets a girl noticed more than her choice of footwear.

The details you are adding after your question are providing the answer. Your casual attire is hardly eye-catching! You don't need to wear skirts or high heels to get a guy's attention. You *do* need to look a little better than a slob!

I think deep down you realize you need a bit of a fashion makeover. Lose the hoodies and wear some decent yet comfortable clothes. No need to look like you stepped out of Vogue. You will feel better about yourself and that's what will get you noticed.

I think the reason they notice you is because you don't normally wear high heels. Most women don't wear high heels on a regular basis. So if you wear them, it makes you look different. Personally, I hate high heels. You're short enough to pull it off, I guess, but I still don't like them. Good night!

Oh, if you're in college, high heels are still very uncommon. I mean, that is weird. Who wears high heels to run around campus, going up and down stairs? I haven't seen a single girl who wasn't dressed up wearing heels on campus. Not even the faculty wears high heels.

I just thought of another reason why guys might notice the heels. If you wear heels to try to look sexy, some guys are bound to notice that you're TRYING to look sexy. But I still hate heels with a passion. Good night!

It is not your height, it is the fact that you are separating the sexes by looking more feminine. Men wear sneakers too, so this way you stand out. Also high heels can improve some people's posture and when you walk it can be more attractive than sneakers...

certainly no offense, but sneakers are not very attractive. higher shoes make the leg appear much longer, especially if paired with long slacks or nice high heels under a shorter skirt. and hey, if the guys notice you more then, why not wear the higher shoes?

I'm 5'5 and I like 4" heels. Heels make you carry yourself just a little more erect. I think you seem more poised and that makes guys notice you more. Or it could just be that at 5'5 we're already a nice height so with heels guys look at us as a mountain to conquer!

The high heels don't just make you taller! Heels also make your legs curve in a very attractive way, make your butt stick out and make you wiggle your butt more noticably when you walk.

THAT'S what guys are noticing, not the added 1.5 inches in height!

Thats not the case for me at all. I get hit on if I'm wearing flip flops! I think high heels are just sexy as hell and may turn men on when they see u out at night. I don't think I get hit on more just because I wear heels though. They r hitting on me not my heels.

It isn't the shoes, hon. It's the fact that guys like us better when we're doing something that makes us extremely uncomfortable and they like us even more when we do something that's bad for us. Heels -- bad. Wear those Adidas and be proud. Life isn't built around what guy is noticing you now.

Some guys find heels to be sexy, others may just notice that your trying to look fancy today with the heels, and others might just think "Wow, She looks taller."
