The Bible talks about "exercise" and "maturity". Both of these fit your question. You just ignore the flesh and "have a workout" by opposing it...and take a step of growing up and just do what you know you should do.

Like exercise and growing up, there might be some pain involved. But as you do this more and more you will have strength and abilities that you never dreamed of.

There will days all you life when you won't "feel like it", just ignore them.
St. Paul even says that we are "crucify the flesh".
Why let it rule you?

Honestly the best way to motivate yourself is to take it upon yourself and be responsible for your actions and situation. Praying just relinquishes responsibility to a "higher power," leaving you to just wait and see what happens.

They say that the probability of something happening when you pray for it is 50%. The probability of something NOT happening when you pray... yep, 50%. Either way, unless you actually go out and affect your life, prayer isn't going to do a thing.

Actually when I am feeling weak in my flesh, I find that good modern christian music helps me through. Michael W. Smith, Casting Crowns, Aaron Shust- etc. Always makes me feel like singing praises to the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
God Bless You....Peace.

What I would do is trust that our God is a good God, gracious and merciful, and that He isn't going to penalize you for not being able to fast like you have determined in your own mind is necessary to get the response you want from Him about the situation.

Basically, God is going to do what HE wants to do and as long as you are not in sin and rebellion all of your fasting failure isn't going to stop Him from hearing your prayers.

1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. (15) And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

Matthew 6:7 "And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. (8) Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Matthew 6:31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' (32) For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. (33) But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (34) "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

sometimes taking the first step is the hardest. But if you take one step towards God, I believe He comes running to you and so one step can take you very far. So put in the effort you are able to put in. And if you are not able to put in too much effort, then that's ok. At least you are trying. Give yourself credit for the little you are able to accomplish, because positive reinforcement and thinking positively will motivate you more than negative. So don't put yourself down, or you'll just get fed up with yourself and give up.

I would recommend a healthy meal and plenty of rest to help deal with the situation. I don't know what faith you are, nor can I question it, but recent studies show that prayer doesn't seem to have any statistical impact on the well-being of others. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/health/2002901053_pray31.html

I think I would go to God in prayer and express to Him what you are expressing to us. He is able to strengthen you to lay hold of Him in prayer. The hardest part of prayer is usually getting started. Start by reading a Psalm.
