Microsoft Office Programs?

When I open any microsoft program windows installer pops up and I have to wait for the program to configure before it opens why is this so?
What can I do to fix the problem?

SOunds like an incomplete installation of a service pack. One of the service packs (SP1 I think) needed the original installation files, so if you didn't have the CD handy it wasn't able to install and keeps trying to each time you start. Unfortunately, I haven't come across a solution if you don't have the MS Office CD.

I believe the only way to fix this problem is to reinstall Microsoft Office.
