If I drink a bottle of water in a few minutes or in an hour my bladder wants to explode, is that normal?

If you drink a bottle of PLAIN water, it's actually relatively simple -- the water enters your bloodstream, diluting the level of sodium, potassium, and other electrolytes in your blood, your kidneys sense that your electrolyte levels are low, and they filter the water out to restore the balance. That all can happen pretty quickly. You could also have a somewhat smaller than average bladder, which could make the situation worse.

Try mixing in a little juice or sports drinks with your water (or drink them alternately), and your electrolytes might stay in better balance so your kidneys can slow down a bit. DON'T quit drinking water though -- all of that filtering action by your kidneys is actually very healthy for you, as it helps to flush toxins out of your system at a better rate.

I drink both, when out in a restaurant I usualy go for tap (when in New York that is) and if on the go I may buy bottled, plus the place where I work has a water cooler so I drink that. So far so good? I mean I live in a city...if it's not the water that'll kill ya its something else...but apparently bottled water is evil because of the amount of plastic waste it creates...thus of course reducing the amount of drinkable water...its a cruel cruel world.

Yes it is normal. It is just a sign that your bladder is full.
