I quit in 1988. The first few days were hard. As time went on it became easier. People will tell you that you will never lose the desire. That is not true. For a few months after, you may want one but it last only a minute or less.
I would recommend going cold turkey and having time off from your work if possible. I was married at the time and my husband hated that I quit and he did not. He tried to make it harder on me but it made me stronger. (He's my ex) Once you decide that cigarettes will not make anything better, you can stop...They are a crutch. You do not need them. They need you. ( the tobacco companies)

I have NO desire at all to smoke.. Avoid bars and places that might make you more susceptible to want a cigarette.
Good Luck..........

i quit smoking about 20 some years ago. i started smoking when i was 12 (my parents didn't know this or i wouldn't be here today. lol) i quit cold turkey. i still would like to have a cigarette and a cup of coffee after a good meal, just to relax with, but i don't do it. you never really get over the urge to have a cigarette once in a while. i know it's hard to do, but just think about how clear your lungs and nasal passages will be, your breath won't smell like dog breath, your skin will look better and your hair and clothes won't smell like smoke. in other words, you'll be healthier, feel healthier and people will like to be around you more. if you're thinking about quitting, good for you. if you've quit smoking, congratulations.
God Bless You

Well I don't smoke, But my dad did and he quit and hasn't smoked in 4 years. That's really good considering how much he use to smoke. I don't know if you knew or not but 1 year after quiting your chances of getting coronary heart disease is cut in half. Random Fact ^.^

Yes 11 years to be exact!

Healthiest thing you can do for yourself. You'd be amazed of how much money you would be saving (instead of burning) as well..
