Depends on the conversation to be honest.... If you do not want to be wwith him again, say you are enjoying being single, or you are not coming back.
If you do want him to want you back however, talk about the good times you two had, and how you wish there could be more of those instances in the future.

If the guy already has another girlfriend or is married, then he will probably think 'omg, what do I do now?!'
But if he is not seriously involved with any other woman, then perhaps he will be happy to hear from you.

The latter, she is obviously thinking about you with feelings strong enough to make contact. A casual thought of a friend is not strong enough to try and strike up an international relationship.

well, im a girl, but if a guy did that to me, i would think like 'oh how nice' or 'he doesnt hate me, he just doesnt love me' or 'that *****, he moved to australia without me!'
