Just don't post the solution for a few hours or more, the answerer's will do it for you. After all, there are a lot of sharp people around were. Or you can put it in your comments after you select best answer.

wait until you choose the best answer and leave the answer to the riddle in the "comments" section. Everyone else will be able to see you comment and if they go to their "watch list" or look back through their answered questions, they can get the answer.

go back to your question and click on the little pencil icon and then click add details.
you can also click on best answer by scrolling down and clicking on "choose as best answer" if you ansked the question 4 or more hours ago and then you get 3 points back.
