Women will never get drafted. They don't need women on a mass scale like they do need men Infantrymen and Combat jobs that women are not currently aloud to do. When they start letting a women be in the Infantry then you can start to worry.

Look into the Israilee Military. They have had a draft almolst since their conseption as a country, and they also draft Women! In many othe countries that would not be "allowed" and for the same stupid gender biased reasons the Government leades have always given. The only real reasons for not drafting women is minor, and can be worked around. 1) women can become pregnant- Not much of a reason when women are volunteering to join and serve in the military now, and get married and have a family as well.
2) women are noted a weaker than men- refer to reason #1. If a woman can stand to give birth she is NOT weaker than a man. 3) women will cause a disruption of disiplin and military order in units they are assigned to- The person who wrote that junk never met some of the female Marines, Airmen, and Soldiers I've worked with. There could be some disruption, but if the commanders were worth their comissions, the problems would be delt with strongly, and quickly! and the problem would eventually fix itself. 4) women in combat would be a detriment to the men who would "try to protect them"- Check on the members of the French resistance during world War 2. Women were noted as more fierce fighters and more blood thirsty in some cases than their Male counterparts. The only real draw back I have ever encountered with Women in the military are the ones who join to "find a husband" or "use their female gender to their own ends". Those are the ones who cant seem to get a job done unless they are "helped" NO matter what the job is or how clean, dirty, hard, or easy. Those are the one who are a disgrace to themselves and the Unit they are assigned to. But to be fare their are humans on both sides of this gender issue that cant find their butts with both hands, and are only in the Military to recieve a paycheck, and NOT EARN ONE! Women can and DO serve proudly and in most cases HAVE TO PROVE THEMSELVES more often than their laziest male superiors and personnel they serve with. Find a dedicated Military Woman, and Ill show you a person who HAS proven themselves 3 times to each man in the same position.

Not sure that I can help with bad things, other than the public lashback, which would accompany a draft with or without women. The fact is that at one time in our nation, it was appropriate to only draft men. Men were the vast majority of the workforce, earned the vast majority of the money and derived the vast majority of the benefits of the government. It follows that they would be responsible for the manpower necessary to fight and win a war, not only that, but for the majority of our nations history, only men were allowed in the armed forces. This is no longer the case. As women gain right after right and take their place in society as equals to men, they also take on the responsibilities of such. It is no longer acceptable to say that a woman's life is more worthy than a man's and to only conscript men.
Many of the opposing points to drafting women, or even allowing women to serve voluntarily have been defeated by experience. One argument I've heard is that there are plenty of men to form a draft pool and so women on the draft rolls is not necessary. This is a weak argument, because if you look at the number of men who do not meet the military's physical and mental requirements, it very well may be that women are needed to inflate the numbers. But this misses the point. Consider: There are enough white men to fill the needs of the military; does that mena that non-white men should not be drafted? Indeed, there are enough black men; does that mean non-black men should not be drafted? Of course not, and any politician proposing such a policy would find their way to the unemployment line. Being drafted is a burden of living in this society and everyone should be subject to bearing that burden to the same degree.

The draft is opposed in any right, but most people don't think that women should be even near the front lines. Mostly because a man is more psychologically damaged if he sees a woman being killed than a man. IF there was a POW that was a woman, there are attrocities that would be committed to a woman, that are more damaging then there would be for a man. People will put those things in for a fight against it.
I know that if there is a draft, there is nothing that we could do/say about it.
I don't know whether I oppose the draft or not, but I know most people in my age group (that aren't already in the military) will oppose it steadily.

Well in my opinion I believe it is about time that women start getting drafted. Men have been called in the hundreds of thousands have gone to fight and die for their country. If everyone is equal I thinks its about time that everything is finally equal.
Things that I do think would happen:
The country would get upset when they see pictures of woman dead in war. They have already made a big deal about the 60 females out of 2,828 males that have died. Already there are shows talking about the death of females in battle. Jessica Lynch got captured and was all over the news but the others 8 people that got captured with her you never heard about, even the ones that fought back instead of sitting in the back of a HUMVEE crying. Oh yea and she got a Bronze Star because the army wanted to use her as a recruiting tool.

some bad things that could happen would be

- if to many people were taken out of the country for a war, there would not be enough people here to run things, and having women here make sure that the population would never be to low (that could be iffy)

- since men are generally considered "tougher" especially compared to some really girly girls, some women couldn't handle the heat, pressure, having to kill someone, etc...

- it might provide more distraction for the other people fighting, especially if there is a relationship and there was an order like having to leave the wounded woman behind

these r just a couple i thought of, hopefully other people have more

It will not happen. There will not be another draft. It is not needed or wanted. The debate is useless.
1. More women would be non-deployable (pregnancy).
2. Morale would be higher.
3. Problems would be higher.

women would be drafted as administrators & nurses. Common knowlege is that in warfare they would be raped. Pvt. Lynch rescued in Iraq was badly beaten Raped I don't know? As a female 30yrs ago I was administrator attached to an infantry unit.I believe they are serving in the battle-front units presently.WWII nurses were not trained to use weapons so I don't believe other women at the time were qualified either.(a big mistake)

Same thing that would happen to men. You would get trained to kill then get sent off to some hell hole to do just exactly that. Thank Gloria Steinem and the National Organization of Women (NOW) for allowing women to get drafted, fight and die for your country. Hey, fair is fair.
