If its a small shower and you only invite intimate friends and family I think its ok. Since the shower is about you, the bride, its hard to say have an all out party when you have already had one, where many people would have attended.

Showers are usually to help the bride set up housekeeping, so I would say no to a general shower. However, a personal shower, given by some friends, may be in order.

If there is a legitamate need for items then a traditional shower is fine. If you two are well off then just have a party. Or, have people over for traditional games (toilet paper bride...) and ask people to give charitable donations or something along those lines.

if you decide to have a "shower" = then give some thought to what things you need as a couple & maybe have somehting combined - e.g:- a *garden party* ( gardening tools , plants) ; cellar tea ( wines ;cheeses)
or if just for you - then a lingerie party.
