We can only hope not

There will be many more David Koreshs. As long as people continue to have faith-based beliefs, they will continue to be taken in by dangerous leaders. Deception and misdirection are the logical consequences of faith-based belief. It is to be expected.

This is why there are so many disgraced religious leaders throughout history. As a case in point, here's one wall of shame, just among televangelists:

1 Jim Bakker
2 Darlene Bishop
3 W.V. Grant
4 Ted Haggard
5 Benny Hinn
6 Kent Hovind
7 Peter Popoff
8 Oral Roberts
9 Jimmy Swaggart
10 Robert Tilton
11 Jim Whittington

I would add Koresh and Jim Jones to any list of disgraced and/or dangerously deluded christian leaders. With research, I'm sure I could come up with a much longer list of scandalous religious leaders, not just christians.

Yep,

I live in Montana, there are several groups like that up here right now. I don't want to name the groups as many of the people in them are just lost sheep. But one group near Yellowstone National Park has several thousand people living in the compound.

Did you ever see the Movie Lonesome Dove? Well it was a movie about the historical Storey Ranch in Montana. This large compound now boarders what remains of the Story Ranch. There are armed watch towers along the property line. I'm not sure what they are guarding from, or maybe keeping some from getting out, but it is a strange site to see.

There are lots of Koresh's and plenty of people to follow them. The difference is that most of them have stayed fairly low profile, don't claim to be non-profits just for tax status, and as a result haven't become the target of a government agency.

There are and will be many more of the Koresh types in the future. Let's just hope they can lead a non-confrontational lifestyle like those up here.

It's the "will there be" that I am wrestling with here
Do you not know that there are hundreds of "sectarian"
"religious" leaders that are in control of thousands of followers
in dozens of locations around -- not only THIS country but--
The World !!
Koresh was operating for quite some time under most people's radar and only came to light in the tragedy at Waco
The way in which this thing was handled IS without a doubt one of the truly darkest chapters in the government's handling of ANY situation of domestic problems within history !! The ATF went to that compound on that day ---SPARING for a fight !! And, this played in directly with what Koresh had been telling his followers all along----that one day the government would come and try to take them all down----self fulfilling prophecy !!!
It could have a replay any day and at any time !!!

Jim Jones was much worse than Koresh. There was only one false Messiah named; David Koresh.

there are lots more David Koreshs and Jimmy jonesons out there A lot of more people out there seeking God now more then ever, and the David Koresh's of the world are out there waiting to manipute them. why are they so eager to follow them I don't know most F.B.I profilers say that they are very smart people that get duped into thinking that the person they are following are either God as the followers of Jimmy Johnson or a messinger of God as David Koresh.

There are hundreds of koreshes in the world. because there are hundreds of people that will bear false witness.
If the government had not attacked, there would be no dead children.
Our government will sell missile defense programs to china and arms and ammunition to the rest of the world, but they are the innocent ones, Yeah RIGHT>

yes
-If you look at history there has been a long line of people that have led others to their deaths by perverted readings of the bible. Charles Manson, David Koresh, Jim Jones...ALL of these people were obsessed with Revelation and were trying to bring about the end of days.

Oh, there are plenty of David Koresh clones out there, the real question is, how many of them will the ATF attack?

Yes, cuz you hear about these people every few years. The guy down in Santa fe, (By San Diego) that had everybody do a mass suicide. I think they were waiting for a space ship, or something on that order. And don't forget Charles Manson.
