I would, I mean if almost all conflicts worldwide werent Islamic like Chechnya, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Somolia, Sudan and Dafur genocide, Chad, Phillipines, Indonesia, Lebanon, Palastine, Iraq, Algeria, Southern India, Kashmir, etc.
AND IF
Muslims werent behind the greatest genocides in history, like:
Genocide and Islam: Chapter 4 - Islam and the Muslim Invasions “Let it be said right away: the massacres perpetuated by Muslims in India are unparalleled in history, bigger than the Holocaust of the Jews by the Nazis; or the massacre of the Armenians by the Turks” http://www.nalanda.nitc.ac.in/resources/english/etext-project/history/gautier/chapter4.html
AND IF
The Quran wasnt so full of hatred and intolerance like:
Quran 9:29 “fight (jihad) those who believe not in allah” http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/msa/quran/009.qmt.html
Then sure, I could have liked Islam when I was an insecure teenager who believed woman should be under control. I can see that...sure.

Islam is the only monotheist religion whos canonical doctrines demand all non-Muslims (kufir) be either converted, reduced to dhimmi status (second class) or death. There are no other choices in Islam. Christianity, Catholicism and Judiasm reformed their respective religions to eliminate the militaristic, mysoginistic and bigoted verses long ago. Islam has not. There is a concept called Ijtihad and it means "the gate" or "the door" and it is the way that the Islamic ulema reopens questions concerning the Koran and sharia. This is the only way Islam can modify or change any of its basic tenents and this "door" has been closed for over 1,000 years. The Islamic clerics, as well as the ulema have stated in no uncertain terms that "Ijtihad" will not be opened, that there will be no study and modification of Islamic doctrine or law now or in the forseeable future. Until that happens, Islam will forever be stuck in the 7th century with no chance to show the world that they are not as dangerous as a lot of us believe. Let me end by posing this question.....since 9-11 over 11,000 attacks by fundamental Islamists have occured worldwide. Show how many fundamental Christians or Catholics have attacked or killed innocents because the Pope, or Christian leaders told them, by using chapter and verse from the Bible to do so.

Why do you abhor a simple five-lettered word and, or title. Would it be any different if we were called pop-overs, popinjays, pookas, pookies, no wait for it - Poppies?
I am not Islam and Islam is not me. Islam is only a word, a title. I just believe in God.
I don't believe a simple five letter or word can do anything. Now if I become obsessed with such a word than yes it can I reckon. I just don't waste my time though and neither should you.
I am not to be convinced as I would never attempt to convince you.
I know exactly what I believe in and you believe in Jim Morrison, not that he's going to save you from the world type of thing, even more than he did. Had he believed in himself like you do; he would, perhaps be alive today and would have been, perhaps, stronger for it. At least I hope so. You know I think so.

Not really. I would not be able to get over the fact that Mohamed fell in love with a six year old girl. There have been people who defend him saying those were the norms of the time, and that the U.S. the age of consent was as low as 12 years old. First of all, he fell in love with her when she was six. there is a big difference in maturity levels of a six and twelve year old. Secondly, two wrongs do not make a right. If Mohamed is a wise man, then he should have known that that is perverse.

Fundamentalists are always the loudest, most dangerous, and worst examples of any religion.
I would encourage people to remember that for every Christian or Islamic fundamentalist, there are 100 Christians or Muslims that know better.

Hatred, intolerance and slavery are not part of Islamic faith.
Just you showing once again you know nothing about Islam only the media propaganda.
Palestine/ Israelis have nothing to do with that right?
Algeria/ French have nothing to do with that right?
Blah blah blah your an idiot.
Your "quote" is talking about defending ourselves at the time of the prophet against those who wanted to kill Muhammad (PBUH) and his followers.
It is not referring to me "fighting" my next door neighbor because he is a Buddhist.
I would like to know who's "control" as a Muslim women I am under? Can you answer that little gem you have come up with?
Muslims do not turn the other cheek. You slap me expect to be slapped back. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. We believe in self defense yes. But we don't go out seeking violence we leave that up to people like you.

my friend ,,you cant refer to one little part of Quran and explain it as u like...this part talks about those who wanted to fight islam at the time of prophet life...ISLAM is great religion..peaceful religion..keep everyones right..Islam has freedom, but this freedom stops when you try to attack others freedom and rights...Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was so accommodating of Christians that according to the two earliest Islamic historians, Ibn e Saad and Ibn Hisham, the Prophet even allowed a delegation of 60 Byzantine Christians from Najran in Yemen to worship in his own mosque in Madinah. Lead by their bishop (Usquf), they had come to discuss a number of issues with him. When time of their prayer came, they asked the Prophet's permission to perform this in the mosque. He answered, "conduct your service here in the mosque. It is a place consecrated to God."
also in the holy quran.."Let there be no compulsion in religion, Truth stands out clear from error" [Al-Qur'ân 2:256] also "Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious." [Al-Qur'ân 16:125] also these days the fastest growing religion in the world is ISLAM..which sword make those people convert to islam????????

" If " Islam was as you envision, then it would not be Islam, would it?
The name itself means "peace through submission."
Submission of all people(s) cannot happen unless the people are oppressed.
