No for being 5'7" and 141 pounds, you are at a healthy weight. It does depend on your body type and age as well and not just your height. I am also the same height as you but weigh a little more and am also in a healthy weight as you. If you are happy with the way you look, then it really doesn't matter what others think. It is you who has to live in your body everyday and not them.

A BMI of 28% is not healthy. The healthy range is from about 17 - 24%, approximately. But online BMI calculators are not very accurate, since they cannot tell how much muscle you have, and muscle weighs more than fat. I've had people tell me that since I lost about 23 lbs that I'm too thin, but people just aren't used to seeing you skinnier. I'm 5'6 and 138, and I'm working down to about 130 - 135. You are a good weight, but try putting on some muscle if you haven't already.

EDIT:
If you did mean body fat percentage, Guinea is right. But since I read the question as it was, I can't really correct my statement. I included a link to take a look at ... let us know what you meant! :)

Firstly, your BMI is about 22, which is ideal. Where did you get a BMI of 28 from or did you mean 28% is your body fat percentage? 28% body fat is perfectly healthy for a female.

You sound fine to me, certainly not too thin. I think it's just such a change and your friends are taking time to get used to it. Well done. Take care : )

I think you're right where you should be. Quick way to calculate according to an exercise instructor (roughly and depending on bone structure) is 5' per 100 lbs. then 5 lbs. per inch over 5'. So, 5' (100 lbs.) + 7" x 5 lbs. would be around 135 lbs. (for a small bone structure). It's only an approximation so you're perfect.
