Its very subjective depending on your stance. I tend to think its not a very ethical guide. (stoning gays, stoning disobedient children, stoning animal the rapist used, killing animals for sacrifice, etc).

Guidance? Maybe, if you have the mental fortitude to get the IDEA presented rather than the literal "words of God." Unfortunately most Christians will say it's "100% correct!" in one breath and then say it's open for interpretation in the next.
For example, do you go out and kill everyone at Wal-Mart on Sunday as the Lord demands in Exodus 35:2? If no one is supposed to work on the sabbath under penalty of death, then why do Christians turn a blind eye to something they claim is "100% accurate"?
So it's up to the reader to decide the bible's validity. I don't think you need the bible to guide you if you have some shred of decency and common sense.

I in consumer-friendly words examine the first sentence because it really is all i necessary to envision. some thing of your question is beside the point. except for one Bible, it really is the JW Bible, each of the Bibles which are available in Bible e book shops are of very constructive. even as the King James Bible is of very constructive, the well-known translations are of even larger high quality. you'll favor to grant some examples of your "obtrusive mistakes and logical contradictions". As contained in the monetary international, the position human beings have outfitted empires on a foundation of valueless collateral, so that you've not in consumer-friendly words outfitted a religious international in accordance to valueless religious collateral, in spite of the undeniable fact that the only good foundation attainable to you, the Bible, you're attacking.

Not at all reliable.
It has been tampered with several times during history.
And are written by many different writers - all of them more or less enlightened.
The most enlightening ( guiding) parts has been removed first by the Jewish priests and later by the Catholic Church.
So if you need guidance - find something else to read.
Email me for suggestions.

Read Proverbs and find out for yourself. Also the teachings of Jesus and his disciples are second to none.

2 for attaining wisdom and discipline;
for understanding words of insight;
3 for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life,
doing what is right and just and fair;
4 for giving prudence to the simple,
knowledge and discretion to the young-
5 let the wise listen and add to their learning,
and let the discerning get guidance-
6 for understanding proverbs and parables,
the sayings and riddles of the wise.
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools [a] despise wisdom and discipline.

What is the message of God,s word for you? What dose God want you to do? Jesus, Brother James wrote this about God,s word: "And remember, it is a message to obey, not just to listen to. If you don't obey, You are only fooling your self. For if you just listen and don,t obey it is like looking in a mirror but doing nothing to improve your appearance. You see your self, Walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you keep looking steadily into God,s perfect law- - The law that sets you free- and if you do what it says and don,t forget what you heard, Then God will bless you for doing it" (James 1:22-25) As God speaks to you through His word, Do what you know He wants you to do.OBEY HIM..... Welcome to the reliable book Of life The BIBLE A true source to all you need to have a blessed and successful Life..It will guide you and keep you own track...it is up to ones self to STAY own TRACK>>>God bless you as you trust in the word ...Trust it.. It will set you Free of fearing nothing or no one But God...God bless the U.S.A. and The city of Israel and all....

Think of it like street sign, being able to qoute that sign, point at the sign, sit on top the sign, is not going to get you to your destination, you have to read it, think how it applies to you, and follow it's advice as best you can. Mostly it is about metaphors and morality, it's not important who said what to whom at such-and-such a place, as much as it is about finding your way and having the courage and patience to live your life as you feel is best, you can listen to all teh preachers in teh world, but sooner or later you have to rationalize that advice and apply it to the situations in your daily life.

It's very reliable. Also modern day archeology is proving that the Holy Bible is historically accurate as well. So ignore the people that say that the Bible is false or made up.

Just a word of caution for phrasing.
Technically, it is the Author of the Bible Who is able to give guidance.

Not a good idea.
It talks about stoning people, and how to coerce a young woman to marry you. Definitely not for our kinder, gentler way of life.
