I have a 91 wrangler, and for some reason the 4wd is working lately. Low range works, but still only has 2wd. Any advice?

it's the stupid vacuum tube. check on the front axle the right side. if the two vacuum tubes aren't still connected, that's the problem. if they are connected, could be a stupid little plastic piece that's in there. get a conversion kit for 200 bucks or so from quadratec. you can tell which it is by the indicator light. if it goes on, it's the plastic piece, if not then it's the vacuum tube

Try double checking all your vacuum lines. We have a 93 Wrangler and have had this be the source of 4wd not working in the past. Good luck!

The older 4WD Jeeps were vacuum activated so check the vacuum line on the front axle on the passenger side of the vehicle.

its probably your front axle lock thingy. its basically a vacuum that pushes a c clip into place so that your front axle can be used in 4 wheel drive. either you can sit there and try to figure out whats wrong with it or you can call up rustys offroad and get an adapter that basically makes it locked all the time like all other axles. its cheap and its easy to put on so thats one way or again you can sit there and try to figure out vacuum stuff and find leaks.

does it have auto locking hubs? if yes they will only work if used on a regular basis. if you do not use them regularly they will not shift in cable could be frozen. if not auto locking hubs i don't know take it to 4 wheel drive shop most estimates are free or cheap
