Why do teachers give SO much homework?

i got like 600 sheets yesterday!

Some homework is good (1 hour, anyting over 1.5 hours is too much), but some teachers abuse it. My 9th grade Biology teacher gave tons, and tons of homework, needless to say, many people disliked her.

They don't have anything better to do than give out homework. If teachers were good at their job then they would not give out homework.
