I've been struggling with a blackhead problem for 6 years now. I'm 17 years old. At first, it started only on my nose. Then it spread to my cheekbones, forehead, chin, jawline... everything! Even including my ENTIRE neck, chest, and my back. I have seen only two dermatologists and they both said I'm fine and nothing is wrong with me. But I dissagree. I tried everything, Biore, Neutrogena, Proactiv, Murad, Clinique... basically everything on the market. But my blackheads keep coming back more atrociously and visible. I feel dirty and disgusting, even after I take a shower. I use Clearasil but I don't see any difference like my doctor said it would. Everytime I put on makkeup, even the lightest kind, I feel the uneveness in my skin and the makeup cakes over my blackheads. Everybody says my skin is fine when there not close up, but they notice it when they are. Facials don't work for me. I am willing to shell out a lot of money to get this all to stop! HELP!!!

I don't eat greasy foods and I drink a lot of water... if that helps any.

Years of struggling with bad skin, I've grown weary of hearing/reading bad advice...Greasy foods, chocolate, or milk does not cause blackheads. Eat what you want, it doesn't make a difference. Diet isn't the problem. And scrubbing your skin raw will not get rid of blackheads. The darkened head is caused by oxidation of the clogged sebum..It is NOT dirt.

I recommend using a Beta Hydroxy Acid product aid in exfoliating the pores. Alpha Hydroxy Acids are effective for exfoliating the outer layers of skin, but don't have a big impact on blackheads. BHA products are able to exfoliate deeper into the skin and help remove built up sebum and skin cells within each pore.

I use a 2% solution nightly, but I'd recommend starting with a milder strength to avoid overdrying or irritating your skin. I can recommend a good source if you need help finding it.

you are in the peak acne years and I am sure that you know to keep your hands off of your face, but also you need to only wash your face twice a day excessive cleansing and scrubbing can make acne worse. The good new is that there is a system out there that can help you. Arbonne's Clear Advantage System really does work It is a 3 step program with an Acne Wash which keeps future outbreaks under control with acne-fighting Salicylic acid without drying the skin step 2 the refining toner Blended with AhA to help calm skin, this tonic removes excess oils leaving skin clean, soothed and refreshed. step 3 Acne lotion This is an Oil Free lotion that penetrates pores to combat blemish-causing bacteria, while soothing and clarifying skin. step 4 Skin support Supplement Supports skin for the inside out. I know the description sounds like others out there believe me I was skeptical but I thought I will try it and if it does not work I will get my money back. I am thrilled to say that my skin looks great! Finally after years of trial and error my skin looks great! I like it so much that I decided to become an Independent consultant . Yes it is that good! You can check out the products at www.thewayback.myarbonne.com

First, blackheads are that way because air has gotten to the bacteria and turns them a darker color- and it usually hardens.

Use products that have salyic acid in them, but try not to overload your skin with it. It can be VERY drying and may make your problem worse. The dermatologists you mentioned don't seem concerned at all, so I wouldn't believe that the problem is as noticeable as you think. When you focus hate on a certain feature, no one seems to find it as scary as you do. I know!
And at 17, your glands may still be a little out of whack because of puberty until you're in your 20's.

BLACKHEADS REMOVAL

A nasty beauty enemy, but here's a remedy:
Combine 1/4 cup boiling water with one teaspoon of Epsom salt and three drops of iodine.
Let mixture cool until it's comfortable to the touch.
Soak a cotton ball with this mixture and touch gently on blackheads.
This will allow them to loosen so they can be easily squeezed with a gauze pad.

okay, speaking as a 18 year old with a blackhead problem...i've tried EVERYTHING. recently i picked up some Biore Pore Minimizing lightweight moisturizer, and to my surprise it actually clears up my blackheads, and makes my skin glow. it's a bit pricey for such a small bottle, but i would reccomend it to anyone!
