I've heard adults say that u have to be real strong to do 10 pushups and im a skinny 12 year old boy and iv done 40!
so 1)is it hard to do 10 pushups? and 2)am i doing them wrong? i spread my feet and hands out a little bit then push down until the tip of my bangs hit the floor, then go back up and repeat.

If done properly it should be hard but all depends on the people. For someone unfit it would be hard. For someone fit it wouldn't as hard!

What you'll probably find is that many of the adults who say this are out of shape (a common epidemic in America especially)...

However there is a difference in perspective here as well. It is not hard for a 12 year old to do 40 pushups or more, but you'll find that your strength and energy begins to fade when you become an adult, and doing the same pushups will require more effort. You can't assume that what is true for an adult is automatically true for you.

However adults who keep in shape can still pull off 10 pushups (or even 40 to 100 or more) with no difficulty. By continuing to exercise you can ward off the onset of age and fatigue and keep yourself strong. There are old men who can still do plenty of one handed pushups (which isn't easy) just because they're still in shape and exercise frequently. Meanwhile there are plenty of out-of-shape younger men who could barely manage 10...

I encourage you to keep doing pushups on a regular basis so that you stay in shape when you become an adult... You really don't want to become one of the lazy ones who can't do 10.

Hopefully this answers the question somewhat.

Sounds like you are doing them right! Some people might just have a harder time working out or be a little heavy or have asthma. Don't worry! Sometimes I can't run for a minute and sometimes I can go straight for hours (no, not literally!)

I can do push ups and people say the same thing to me so to me it's not hard and by the way your describing it it sounds like your doing them right

My friend, If you have no arms it is very difficult to do ten push-ups. No matter what anyone tells you, if you have no arms you may have trouble with push ups....and eating and putting on lipstick or eye liner.
