...We are taking her to a vet hopefully this week but does anyone have some clue what it is?
She is a 5 year old Ragdoll.
It's underneath her skin and about the size of a 5p peice. It's not hard but then again it's not soft either; It doesn't hurt her at all when we touch it.
We have 2 other male cats who she fights with a lot and my first thought that it might have been an infection from a scratch, could this be it?

If it were an abcess-- that is, an infected wound-- she would be very sensitive there, and you would likely be able to feel a scab where the skin was broken. It would also feel hot to the touch, and it would burst (ick) within a few days.

How long has she had it? Has it grown slowly, or did it just appear suddenly? If she's always had it, or if it appeared gradually, it's probably benign. However, there's also the possibility that it's a cancerous tumor. With luck, your vet will say that it's a harmless growth, but she'll probably want to remove it anyway to be safe. It's usually a simple operation, although there's always a small risk with general anesthetic.

Fingers crossed!

If the cat has had a needle recently it could be what we call a sterile abscess! Sometimes the injection site reacts with the area and the body treats it like a foreign body. If the needle is not put in right it cause the same affect (especially if you have a wriggly patient), It is probably nothing to worry about, however it is always good to get it checked by your vet. They may stick a needle into the lump to see what kind of fluids they get out of it, if they are concerned about it they will take a sample and send it to the lab just to be safe.

It could be. A lot of times when a cat is bitten by another cat a large lump will form under the skin and then it will bust into a open wound. I would take your cat to the vet just to make sure.

Not to scare you, but mine had the same thing and they started popping up all over her body. It was cancer and she lasted about 6 weeks since we noticed the first one popped up.

Her's were more hard than soft though and got to be very hard. They almost felt like matted hair and that you could cut it off, but they were inside her. They also never bothered her. She never acted like she was in pain.

I've heard that soft lumps are better than hard ones. I had a dog that just had fatty lumps and it was no big deal.

Definitely get her to the vet though. Mine had so many pop up so quickly, there's nothing I could do. Hope yours isn't any big deal. Good luck.

it is possibly a lipoma. My dog has one on hes stomach and one one his leg. It is a fatty tumor that is like what you described. Get it checked out by a vet but if it is a lipoma don't worry. They don't hurt the animal and only need to be taken off if they are causing any disconfort to the animal or for cosmetic reasons. You still need to take the cat to the vet and if it gets any bigger it could possibly be cancer. Don't wait to see what happens though. Go in between now and Friday.

It could be a tumor. But my friends horse had a lump on his leg that they thought was a tumor but it turned out only to be something from him laying down a lot. I'm not sure what it was called, but it's still there and doesn't hurt him or bother him in any way. If your cat lays on her back a lot, or put her head back when she lays down it could be a similar thing. I'm pretty sure it was some sort of fluid build-up...the thing on my friends horse i mean.
