Yes, put the can of diet coke in a bonfire, then throw mentos in the bonfire. After a while the can will explode.

i have used the two leiter bottles of diet coke, but what worked with that better then mentos were those mints you usually get at resturants (u can get it @ a 7-11 kinda store too) and they look sorta square and, if they come in different colors they are usually pastels. THey key factor though, is that those mints melt in your mouth, but they are hard before you suck on them. I think we got the stream to go like 3 ft. high. But it lasts a long time because there is so much coke in the big bottle

No.

The reason it works on liter bottles is that the rough surface of the mint facilitates a rapid coming-out-of-solution of the dissolved CO2, and it is all forced up through the relatively small hole at the top of the bottle.

Not enough volume in the can.

Try it both ways, you'll see!

(only don't do it indoors!!!!!!!)

I would say no as you could not seal the can again so it would all come out of the opening. An explosion needsthe forces which build up to be contained until they reach the point where the containing matterial fails (i.e. explodes)

I've never heard of it, I'd think that they would gush out too fast. Also, if you did close it somehow, it probably won't explode, only go out the opening since that is the weakest part

if you want to explode the can i don't know but you can still make it fizz up but it wont be as high because there is a bigger hole for the fizz to come threw
