yo leo
and in "i like to read books" Me gusta leer libros .. because the verb like 1st per (gusta) is the main verb and read is secondary an it comes in its infinitive form (leer)
so I read books is: Yo leo libros
hope it helps

The first person conjugation of "leer" is "leo" so, "I read" is "yo leo." However, in the example sentence you gave, one would not conjugate the verb "to read." One would say, "Me gusta leer." Where as "I read books" would be "Leo los libros."

Me gusta LEER libros, because you are using 'to read', instead of 'read' alone.
If you say: I read books, it would be: Yo LEO libros, or just: LEO libros (withot the Yo).

Reading the book instead of enjoying the movie is the ultimate way to see what the writer expected. Reading uses your creativeness, hones your reading skills, and can increase your vocabulary
