Well the way I see it.. smoking hurts not only the person smoking but also all those people who are inhaling the smoke around them. If they decide to tan.. well then they are just hurting themselves!

Personally I'd rather keep the government out of the private lives of it's citizens. George Orwell is smiling right now seeing his novel come to fruition. The problems arise with "drawing the line".When too much of invading the 'PRIVACY" of people is a violation of our rights. When you make laws banning a behavior you have to have it enforced,Who will that be? The Nazi's tried that brand of government 70 yrs ago,the rest is history. What if some political group decides it wants to eliminate blue eyed blond people? Not so different that's whats going on today,it all starts out with good intentions,we all know where that leads.

So long as they are adults and aren't harming you, whether its tanning beds, smoking, alcohol or other drugs, it isn't any of your business to ban or control in any way. The government and the do-gooders need to get out of our private lives forever.

And I don't understand why we go to the trouble to ban smoking but it's okay to let people eat up their livers with alcohol!?

Let's just ban everything then we won't be responsible for making any choices for ourselves.
