You, my friend, are witnessing an act of congress in action. Somewhere along the way, someone got a swollen lip from eating something they were alergic to, so they said, "Holy crap" my problem might be everyone's problem, and my congressman/chick needs to do something about it."
So Instead of actually doing something about education or crime in America (outside of throwing money at the machine), they spend countless hours trying to figure out how to label snack packages in a way that some idiot who is alergic to nuts won't pick up a package of nuts and eat the package of nuts because they will be properly labeled with a warning.
We are a great country with idiots for leaders (Dem and Rep)

The chocolate manufacturing unit produces exclusive varieties of chocolate bars. Some are plain chocolate, some are with almonds, some are with peanuts! It is a disclaimer the brand uses "simply in case" a little of a nut may by some means end up in the all chocolate bars. There are lots of humans available in the market which might be allergic to nuts and the company does not desire to be sued by way of them! I'm sure that they wash out the machines after they've finished a run of chocolate bars with nuts and earlier than they a run of strong chocolate bars, but one on no account knows, so-higher to be reliable than sorry by putting this disclaimer on the candy bar.

They have to warn people who are allergic to peanuts as they can get a severe allergic reaction if they even eat a trace of a peanut. Some people are so allergic to peanuts they have a reaction to the breath of someone who has eaten a peanut butter sandwich before they come to work.
Nut companies use the same equipment to package peanuts as they do other nuts so that is why. I am sure they are just covering their butts so the won't get sued.

the chocolate production facility produces kinds of chocolate bars. some are undeniable chocolate, some are with almonds, some are with peanuts! it really is a disclaimer the producer makes use of "basically in case" somewhat a nut would someway finally end up contained in the all chocolate bars. there are various of human beings accessible that are allergic to nuts and the corporate does no longer favor to be sued by way of them! i'm particular that they wash out the machines once they have finished a run of chocolate bars with nuts and in the previous they commence a run of fantastic chocolate bars, yet one by no ability is conventional with, so-more effective useful to be chance-free than sorry by way of putting this disclaimer on the sweet bar.

I eat peanuts for a snack sometimes, and that package says the same thing. I was hoping it contained whole nuts as that is what I wanted to eat, but traces I guess is close enough. :)

I think the same person wrote the warning on my new clothes iron. Honestly it actualy says: "Do not iron clothes while wearing"
Somebody somewhere actually ironed their clothes while they were wearing them.
Too much...I think I will go have a trace of nuts!

Individuals aren't stupid. People are.
Somebody sued 'em after an allergic reaction saying they didn't know walnuts were nuts.
Shakespeare knew best. "First, let's kill all the lawyers."
